The Surprise TEA!!!

For months now my Mom and I have been plotting and planning to surprise my sister with a tea party. With help from Shelb's good friend Tina we pulled it off with no suspicion. Just to help you understand the amount of planning went into this tea, my dad drove to California with a car loaded with supplies. My mom flew down and met all of us there. What a good man my dad is! He drove very carefully with all the tea cups, a mixer, linens, flowers, platters, silver, food, etc.

With the graduation over with on Saturday, my mom and I needed to sneak away from the festivities on Sunday morning to go and prepare for the party. Shelby was a little upset we weren't around to say the least. I'm glad she loves us so much! :) A little side line note....Lauren had stayed her first night away with the Ilagan's over in Vacaville. My dad used Lauren as our alibi. He told Shelb we had to go and pick Lauren up because she wasn't doing "good." So yes we had to lie a little, well not me....my dad did. :) Still a good guy by the way. Soooo around 1pm I called to tell Shelby we were going to fix Lauren lunch and then be on our way.....okay I did tell a white lie. She wasn't too happy about this, but said okay. I told her we'd meet her at the park and hang out there for the afternoon.

Around 2pm my dad told Shelby to put on a dress and not to ask any questions. This was great....she did as she was told and got into the car blindfolded and showed up to Tina's house to be surprised by many of her girl friends.

With all the hard work my mom and I put into the tea I think it definitely paid off! Shelby was surprised, which has never happened in history, and all the ladies had a great time. Here are a few pictures of our treats we made. NOT SHOWN: my mom made homemade Devonshire Cream, and Lemon Curd to pair with my scones. It was very tasty!

Each table had its own color theme. My Mom really out did herself! My Mom's AMAZING Quiche... I need the recipe! This is a close up on the ladies plates. We served the quiche after they were seated.

We offered Iced and Hot water, as it was 100 degrees outside.

by the way.....we made everything fresh that day! I was a little stressed about my scones, but they turned out just right. I will add my recepies soon....they are a piece of cake! :)

Sara Jane you did a great job on your scones not to mention EVERYTHING else. It was very fun spending time with you, even though the time went by SO fast. God is so good, He got us through all the time crunches, extra things that 'popped' up and the heat!!! I love you, MOM...
